Meet Thomas. He is our new cat. He is a strange cat. lol. We found him outside. Mom wouldn’t let us keep him. Michelle talked mom into letting us keep him. Now we have a new cat! Hehehe. Actually, I’ve never had a cat before. My mom is allergic to cats so we never really had cats around. Ironically I was asked earlier the day we found Thomas, how did you get Michelle to let you hang out (which she lets me hang out whenever I want…he was just being sarcastic)? I answered; I found a random cat and gave it to her (which is true lol).

A new show aired about 4 weeks ago called Chuck. It’s quickly becoming a show that I constantly want to see again and again. What is it like? It’s like geeks meet the spy world. They bring up tons and tons of ‘geek’ issues and analogies that come up if you have hung out with that crowd. The show even has their own version of the ‘Geek Squad’ called the ’Nerd Herd’. About a week ago at school in my American Popular Culture class we got an assignment. In this assignment, we have to write an essay on a tv show on either class, gender, sex, or nationality. So I had to choose this show for two reasons first is because this show is really funny and second is because I’ve gone through some of this type of life. I’m hoping that this will give me some good resources on my paper. Check out this show, Its awesome.

I’m not sure if you guys are aware, but Bungie (creator of the Halo Trilogy Series) has not become an independent company from Microsoft. This I think is a surprising and bold move for this company since Microsoft bought them out back before the first halo was released. I think this is a great move for Bungie due to Microsoft limiting them in their games and to only X-box. This will allow them to increase their demand for their games by creating a bigger market for their products. So yeah. lol.

Sorry guys, I know this is late…but I’ve just had a lot of things going on with family, friends, and life. Not saying my readers aren’t important, just I’ve been going through a lot of things and just haven’t had the time/energy to do much lol. We just finished a series called Power of With. At first sight one would ask, With what? The answer is…with each other. Relationships. Community. Smallgroups. We don’t want to be a church of people who doesn’t know anyone; we want to be a church of people who deeply want a relationship with everyone. Now what does that mean? Well to me it meant something different growing up than what it does now. What does it mean to me now? It means that I must be seeking other people’s needs over myself, I need to make people feel loved, and I need to do it in such a way that I bring glory to God/Jesus/Holy Spirit. Growing up in a small church and going to a small school, I had the chance of “knowing” people. Knowing who they are but not necessarily knowing them intimately. I had a little bit of a shock when I came out of High School and went to college where I knew…nobody and still don’t know many people. Also when I went to a few other churches that were quite large, I had a sense of insignificants. Just like this comic from Zits up above. I was surrounded by people, but felt absolutely alone. When I first came to sandals I felt this at first because of the huge amount of people, but luckily I ran into some old classmates that made me feel better. Finally when I made the decision to start smallgroups and decided to know more people than my small crowd of friends, I came to the College Smallgroup (SCU). At first the old feeling of loneliness came upon me when I got there because of the of the 60 or so college students I have never met before. The funny thing was that the people there were really welcoming. I started feeling more and more comfortable. That people wanted me to be there and have fun with them. Now coming from the other side of knowing most of the people now, it is my job to help people feel more welcome once again. That is what I think sums up the whole series. That we need to make people feel loved and known, and in doing so can create amazing relationship for God. We can become intimate with people and that gives us the power to take our next steps in our relationship and journey of God.
Live in peace with one another. We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone. See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another… 1 Thessalonians 5:13-15

Even if you aren’t a gamer…I bet you have at least heard of halo. This is one of my favorite games of all time. Why? Because of the endless ‘fun’ of playing with your friends, how a CTF game can last hours and can end by barely running through certain death. With the new release of Halo 3, the old spark of the gamer in me has been ignited. Unfortunately, the endless reminders of my choice to no longer play video games seems to be coming at me relentless. My first instinct was to go buy an Xbox 360 and the game, but I didn’t because a question was forced into my head. Why spend $500 on something that you will probably barely play? So I re-affirmed my convictions of not needing the game. Alas, this did not stop the endless attacks for the need of this game. I began doing what I always do when I want to ignore an issue; I become too busy for it and use that as an excuse. Luckily that died down the need of it, but not the constant reminder of my decision. It’s been out for…a few weeks now (idk?) and I can’t count how many times I’ve been asked about the game. The last time was Saturday evening on the way home…I got a phone call. Yeah. lol. And then the day before I got one at work. Why me? So tell me this, is it me or something against me? I’m tired of dealing with something that is an issue for me but doesn’t seem like it should be an issue at all.

Yep that’s me yet again. Surprised? I wouldn’t be. Much apologies to my lack of updates. One thing I did do recently was go to Disneyland. Me and Michelle got off of Pirates and decided to check out the store Pieces of Eight. As we went in, I had the feeling that Disney wouldn’t ever make another new item for a while. Then we came to the ring section and I was sooooo surprised. I saw an identical ring of one of Captain Jack Sparrow’s. I had to buy it! So, yet again, I’m still adding onto my endless costume. Keep an eye out for later this month while I once again show my true colors of black and white.
